Family and Friends, THANK YOU for your support, thoughts, and most of all prayers. He listens.
Hopefully this blog will help keep loved ones updated on Christine’s health. It’s been a long journey, and this time in Germany is particularly scary. I’ll do my best to summarize where she’s been and where we hope to be.
History
Christine is a SURVIVOR! Here’s what she’s overcome:
C. Diff
Christine experienced 8 episodes of C. Diff colitis in 18 months. Every year, C. Diff infects 500,000 and kills 30,000 Americans. It nearly killed Christine July 2nd, 2024 when her heart flatlined until radiology staff resuscitated and shocked her with a defibrillator.
From many different antibiotics to infusions to Benzlotoxumab to Rebyota, medicines and therapies failed to put the C. Diff at bay. Finally, thanks to a miracle, Christine received the LAST donor sample for a Fecal Microbiota Transplant (screened 💩 implanted in the colon). Thank God it worked!
Then in 2025 the FDA ramped up regulation of Fecal Transplants (FMT) in the USA. Despite tens of thousands of successful FMTs, the FDA cited 2 extreme cases of immuno-suppressed patients’ side effects to stop FMT. But don’t worry – Americans can pay $ tens of $ thousands of $ dollars to Nestlé for their Vowst or to Ferring Pharmaceuticals for their Rebyota. Since Nov 2024, both treatment costs have skyrocketed and both their supposed efficacy rates quadrupled without any further testing. Hmmm…
Germany
We are now in Germany because FMT saves Christine’s life and is provided by a small, rural clinic named Milz-Bieber 2 hours southwest of Munich. The married partners and their staff are an absolute Godsend! She receives infusions as well as transplants, along with labs and kind consulting these many months since March 4th. German offices were kind enough to extend our Visa based on medical compassion.

There have been good days, like Connor’s visit and driving his mom across Austria, Lichtenstein, Switzerland, and Germany all in one day. And there have been bad days, where Christine is stuck in bed and can barely make it to the bathroom. Since mid-June, the agony in her left arm has given us more bad days, and we are hoping and praying to find some diagnosis and treatment SOON.
Again, thank you for your compassion, kindness, and support! Please ask me any questions any time, and I’ll do my best to answer them as well as relay your kind words to Christine. ~ Jed

Following along. Sending you healing wishes and my prayers.
I’m fighting a pinched lumbar nerve sending constant cramping and pain down my right leg – so I now feel a tiny, tiny, tiny little bit of what Christine has and is going through.
Prayers for you!!
Thank you, Jed, for posting these updates and photos. My prayers are constantly with Christine, you , and her caregivers. Love, Mom
